The importance of taking Climate Action is one of the fundamental principles at the core of the B Corp movement. And inline with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda, we urge everyone, especially the private sector, to act now to combat the climate emergency and its already visible catastrophic impacts. The business community not only has the possibility, but also the responsibility to shift practices based on extraction and focus on sustainability and regeneration. Setting the example of what businesses can achieve when opting for stakeholder primacy rather than shareholder primacy, the B Corp Climate Collective, organized the B Corp Global Climate Summit in June 2021, providing a space for the private sector and other interested parties to learn, share, discuss, and above all, work together to tackle the climate crisis. During 3 days in June & July, more than 5,000 people registered to attend over 70 sessions exploring what businesses are currently doing, and ought to do more of, across a wide variety of climate topics. These topics ranged from Regenerative Agriculture in different regions globally, to Mitigation of Greenhouse Gas Hotspots in an FMCG’s Supply Chain, and Science-Based Targets in the Tourism Industry, always bringing Climate Justice to the forefront of the conversation. The result? Almost 100 hours of content now available for the benefit of any business that seeks guidance to take meaningful Climate Action.
